Launch of new centre to design policies with citizens, for citizens

On the first week of October the European Commission has launched a new centre to build partnerships and provide guidance, tools and resources to strengthen citizen engagement in policy. This centre calls the “Competence centre on participatory and deliberative democracy”.

The competence centre has been set up to help EU institutions and organisations across Europe build their capacities to support these kinds of projects and policies. It is already working on several pilot projects, from green cities to future mobility solutions. The ambition is for all policymakers to involve citizens from the very start of any new policy.
