Many European companies are not informed about Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) in their articles

The partners of a European LIFE project, AskREACH, find in their study many companies not being well informed on the SVHC content of their articles. The survey conducted during summer 2018 was answered by 174 companies in 12 Member States. 43 % of the companies who answered the survey had received REACH Article 33 consumer requests, out of which nearly half stated that they usually do not have the required information to provide an immediate response on the SVHC content of their articles to the consumer.

You can read more about the results of the survey conducted by the project here.

The project AskREACH develops IT tools for SVHC information communication in the supply chain and to the consumer. The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology is a project partner and is currently looking for companies willing to become beta testers of the system. You can read more about the project on the REACH&CLP Helpdesk Luxembourg website or send an e-mail to companies@askreach.eu for further information.
